The students of Lakshmi Niwas Mittal Institute of Information Technology (LNMIIT), Jaipur, left no stone unturned to make their four-day techno-cultural-management festival a memorable event. However, it was not only dance and masti at the fest as the four-day event also touched upon social issues like women’s empowerment, the environment and education of underprivileged kids.

“Unlike other years, we have invited colleges from Delhi and Pune to participate in our fest,” said Raja Massand, a third-year engineering student of the college and a core member of the organizing committee. The fest, dedicated to celebrate the 100th year of Indian cinema, had a plethora of activities ranging from quizzes to theatrical events. Music, dance and managerial quiz competitions were organized during the fest, which centred around the theme of Bollywood.
“We kept the Bollywood theme, not only to celebrate the centenary year of Indian cinema, but also to have a wider canvas to organize interesting events,” said Anupam Singh, head of department of Physics. With Bollywood as the theme, the students had a blast. “A dance competition titled 'Aaja Nachle’, a fashion show titled ‘Vogue’, and a spoof competition titled ‘Burlesque’, nukkad natak, were some of the events that we enjoyed the most,” said Ayush Pranav, a student from LNMIIT.
The fun-filled four-day event wrapped up with a mesmerizing performance by singer Javed Ali and his band Sur Sargam. They entertained the students with hit numbers like Kehne Ko Jashn-E-Bahara Hai, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Tum Tak from Raanjhanaa. To add a local touch, the Bollywood singer even sang a few lines from one of the most popular Rajasthani folk songs – Kesariya Balam.
